The Hive has been open for a year! During that time many researchers from across the University have used it as a study area, for group discussions and to attend organised forums and workshops.
The Hive Scholars work closely with the Doctoral School and Library Research Liaison team in supporting the research community at Sussex. In order to ensure activities meet user needs, we need to hear your ideas about events and activities that could take place in the Hive. We also welcome the opportunity to share our planning with you.
We are planning to hold a roundtable/open forum discussion Monday 5th December from 12.30 - 14.00 in the Library Meeting Room. This is for all Hive users, including regular users, occasional users and 'still thinking about it' users. We look forward to hearing what you would like to see happening in the Hive while we share light refreshments.
This event is arranged as a follow up to the focus group meeting held as part of the Research Hive evaluation last summer, when there was a request for a regular meeting.
As we are arranging refreshments, please let us know if you intend to come by emailing us at researchhive@sussex.ac.uk by mid-day on Friday, 25th November.

Open Mic Event
The first Research Hive event to this Academic year is an open mic activity being held in the Library Research Hive on Wednesday 23rd November from 13:00-14:00.
The event has been planned to provide Doctoral researchers with an opportunity to get to know each other, communicate about their research and practice their presentation skills in a friendly environment. This is an ideal opportunity, especially for anybody who finds speaking in public or addressing an audience difficult. No formal preparation is needed - and no powerpoint or prezi! Just turn up ready to talk for a few minutes about your research.
Numbers are limited. Please book your place at the Open Mic Event by emailing the Research Hive Scholars at researchhive@sussex.ac.uk. Looking forward to seeing you there and hearing about your research.
